Messinia is located in the Southwest Peloponnese. Bounded to the North by the river Neda and the Arcadian Mountains, to the East by Mount Taygetus, on the South by the Gulf and in the West by the Ionian Sea. It is bordered on the North by the Prefecture of Ilia, in the North-East with the Prefecture of Arcadia and to the East with the Prefecture of Laconia.
The Hotels Association of Messinia, based in Kalamata, founded in the year 1974 and thereafter continues the functioning of realizing the hard work that has been undertaken. The purpose of the “Messinia” Hotels Association is to preserve, study and promote other social and professional interests of hotels that are members of, in the context of public service.
